The city of Las Vegas is like no other city in the world. There are casinos in many states. Biloxi, Mississippi and Atlantic City, New Jersey have there own versions of a gambling and entertainment mecca, but, they are no comparison to the spectacle that is Las Vegas.

Getting to Las Vegas is easy. There are hundreds of Las Vegas flights every day. Travelers come from all parts of the United States as well as the rest of the world. Well over 30 million people visit the city every year.

If you have never been to Las Vegas, be prepared to be taken to a world unlike anything you have ever seen before. From the moment your plane lands at McCarran International Airport, the excitement of Sin City will hit you. As you walk through the concourse to retrieve your luggage, you will pass sign after sign advertising the different casinos and all of the featured acts and performers. Slot machines will be clanging in the waiting areas and people will have a smile on their face. Everyone loves coming to Las Vegas.

With the availability of so many cheap flights to Las Vegas and so many people coming to the city, traffic can sometimes be a problem. As a first time visitor, don't rent a car. You can get around just fine without one. Take a short cab ride, hop on a shuttle or maybe hire a limousine to take you to your hotel. You can pretty much walk to any destination from your hotel on the Strip.

Once you get settled in to your room, exploring the hotel you are staying in would be a good place to start. You can check out the casino, browse through the shops and take a look at the different restaurants. You might want to try your luck at the slots or maybe give Blackjack a try. On your first day in the city, you will do well to absorb the constant buzz and never-ending activity that is Las Vegas.

The next day can be spent exploring all of the magnificent properties up and down the Las Vegas Strip. The Mirage has a volcano, Treasure Island has an exciting Pirate battle. Marvel at the spectacular dancing waters of the Bellagio. You can enter the Pyramid at Luxor or visit Paris. New York, New York is a mini version of the Big Apple and Caeser's Palace will take you through ancient Roman times. You can walk up and down the strip and choose to visit as many properties as you like. Be sure to wear some comfortable shoes.

Along the way, you can shop at some of the most exclusive stores or pick up a little souvenir. Many people book Las Vegas flights just to do some shopping. Buffets are everywhere, so bring a good appetite. Headline entertainers and many spectacular shows are available all the time in Las Vegas.

A few musts for the first time visitor. Try a buffet. Take an elevator up to the observation deck of the Stratosphere, the tallest structure in the city. Visit the Fremont Street experience. Take a walk through the newly built City Center. Bring some money so you can gamble. Win or lose, you will have an exciting and memorable experience in Las Vegas .
